Caution
- To Retain IP65 Water Seal Quality: Applying cuts, splices, and end caps to the unaltered LED rope 100-foot length is dependent upon the LED rope splicing and sealing skills of the installer and adherence to the instructions.
- The LED neon rope cannot be handled like a garden hose. Avoid excessive pulling, bending, or torquing stresses to the wiring while handling.
- WHILE COILED ON ITS SPOOL: Do not illuminate the coiled neon rope for long periods of time because getting the coiled rope too warm can damage the circuitry. Only momentary quick lightups of room-temperature coiled rope are permissible to check function.
- Do not apply tighter bends than those described in the instructions.
- Precautions when using a triac dimmer:
1. Rope lights are directly plugged into an outlet. The outlet must be dedicated just for the rope light, especially if it is to be controlled by a triac dimmer.
2. A 100-ft / 30m rope light is equivalent to about 280W at 9.2w/m per our specs. The maximum rating of a triac dimmer currently available is only rated 250W. Using it might overheat and eventually burn the dimmer. Therefore, it is not advisable to use a dimmer for the 100-ft rope light, unless the dimmer has a rating of at least 280W.
3. Shorter lengths of rope lights, rated 250W or less are compatible with triac dimmers but must use a dedicated outlet to plug it in. - Only complete factory-assembled (with plug-in power cable and uncut) LED neon rope lights are ETL Listed. ETL Listing is voided once any modification is made, though modifications are safe if altered by qualified electricians.
